About the Authors

Sara Jarman graduated from Brigham Young University’s J. Reuben Clark Law School in 2019. She was previously a journalist, online content manager and law clerk at the Salt Lake District Attorney’s Office. She currently works as a lawyer. Jarman has published articles in The Daily Caller, The HillKSL, The Salt Lake Tribune and in various other publications. She has also worked as a content marketing manager for various business. She is an Honors graduate from Brigham Young University, having written her Honors Thesis on the subject of this book.

Dr. Brent Gilchrist passed away in September 2016 and held a doctorate in Political Science and Political Philosophy from Carleton University. He taught for 16 years at Brigham Young University, Pittsburg State University and Carleton University. He was the author of Cultus Americanus: Varieties of the Liberal Tradition in American Political Culture 1620-1865 (Lexington Press, 2006; rpt. 2007). Gilchrist taught political philosophy in the Political Science Department at Utah State University in Logan, Utah, as well as teaching online courses for Utah State.
